My Roots

I decided to close my eyes.

When the sky was closing up on me,

I decided to close my eyes.

Not to rest or to be free:

But simply to go back to my roots.

I was welcomed by my own company

For it is where I come from

And it is where I go back to see

That the sky doesn’t have to decide where I am.

People can scar, caught up in an inevitable race

But you are the only person who can triumph

Because where you come from is what empowers you

And that is why my imagination is my native place.
